I hope this finds you well!

I'm hosting Get To Zero CO2 at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort on Friday, November 14th and at the Montpelier City Hall/Lost Nation Theater on Monday, November 17th. This conference series focuses on upstream waste management and environmentally preferable purchasing practices. www.GetToZeroCO2.com

On November 14th and 17th the Director of Purchasing for Rutgers University, Dr. Kevin Lyons, will be coming to the North Country to give a 6-hour training workshop on greening the supply chain. Dr. Lyons is known as a global expert on this topic, and consults with companies like Wachovia Bank, Johnson & Johnson and Mars Candy. He also consults extensively on management of electronic waste. Dr. Lyons has been working in environmental supply chain management for decades, and we are very fortunate he's coming to teach us what he's learned. The workshop curriculum includes: Creating an effective Supply Chain Environmental Management/Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy, Cost Benefit Analysis/ROI Analysis, Waste and Landfill Management, Vendor/Supplier Participation, National/International Resources, eProcurement, and case studies.

A number of other speakers will be presenting in addition to Dr. Lyons. They will be discussing local efforts to create a healthier community, such as a local public transportation project, and the owner of a local business that successfully manages their waste upstream. We will also be showing "Manufactured Landscapes", a movie that poetically demonstrates where much of our most toxic e-waste ends up: in huge piles in China. "Manufactured Landscapes" is often compared to "Who Killed the Electric Car" and "An Inconvenient Truth" in its ability to create a cultural understanding of the importance of upstream waste management and product lifecycle design.

I know you get it about upstream waste management, so I wanted to let you know about this important event. I hope that you will support Blue Sky Environmental Strategies' efforts to deliver this timely information to businesses, governmental entities, non-profits and the education sector. Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in exhibiting at, sponsoring or attending this event.

I look forward to hearing from you! And thanks again!

Cimbria
