Using a Pi for Internet sharing ?

Need to go from  cantenna/WiFi dongle ---- USB cable ----------- (PC or Pi, preferably Pi) ------------- WiFi router

This is for our Internet connection at Basingstoke.  

Anyone with experience of using a Pi in this way?

I'd suggest this https://lede-project.org/ it's possible to run on a Pi too.

I've never needed to. However if you search the Raspberry Pi Forums there seems to be a plethora of possibilities:
