Hola Newaukee.

YES, you've realized of late that we're sending out weekly updates on all things NEWaukee.   Please take a minute, digest, regurgitate, give feedback, pose naked, and let me know if you've got any questions.

This Week's Event: Belmont Tavern. Here's the FB link: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=272051092839467 We've noticed lately that posting pictures get heavier traction than simply the event link. So feel free to be creative and post pictures of the venue, other Newaukee events, etc to promote the event.
The Alderman will be in attendance at 7 PM so everyone please get there by then.

Next Events:
December 1st - Upper 90
December 8th - Young Milwaukee Holiday Gala
December 15th - Newaukee (Core Members Only) Christmas Party
December 31 - NYE

New Year's Eve Plans:
We had another meeting last night to brainstorm and iron out the NYE plans. Our goals for the week are to finalize the vendors, budget and begin some sponsorship sales. Even though MIAD has donated the space and Bartenders on the Go are going to only be $16/per person - there is about $17,000 worth of infrastructure that needs to go into the space to make it functional for the large-scale event we want to host. And that doesn't take into account the high caliber entertainment we have become known for. What this means is - we need to sell 708 tickets at full price ($75) to break even. This isn't an unreasonable feat by any means (we sold nearly 500 tickets last year with ease), but it will take the commitment of the group to thoroughly promote the event and make sure that everyone we know purchases a ticket. The communication on the event will be launched on Monday, Nov 21st before Thanksgiving. More info to follow.

LuvSac Music Series:
Tentatively set for Jan 18th - March 7th at the Grand Ave. The mall has backed the event and we've received positive response from 88.9FM as a musical partner. We need to figure out the liquor licensing to make sure that NEWaukee gets a cut of the profits of the revenue generated. It may mean that we apply for a catering license, which makes sense because we have so many events every year that involve the sale of liquor - it might be nice to function as a moving tavern. This is just a thought at the moment. If we pursue this ' we'll let everyone know.

Regular Meeting:
Lets get back on track with a regular meeting every other week to keep everyone in the loop about what is happening and allow everyone to participate in the process as things evolve. If you know anyone that is interested in joining the planning sessions or get more involved in NEWaukee in general, please have them give me a shout.

Rain in Spain.
Ian
