Across the country, new policies are threatening the future of our children’s education. Parents in Newark are coming together with policy leaders to learn, share, and strategize during this difficult time.
You are invited to join the parent organizers of PULSE (Parents Unified for Local School Education) on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm at the Paul Robeson Center at Rutgers Newark for a community conversation on how we respond, resist, and reimagine public education for our children.
The day has two components. First, there will be speakers from organizations working on behalf of education equity locally and regionally, such as Liberation Spaces, SPAN Parent Advocacy Network, NJSACC, and the Education Law Center. In the afternoon, we will have small group discussions led by PULSE parent organizers from Newark’s South and West Ward, alongside community facilitators, Michelle Fine, Tenisha Malcolm, Lauren Wells, and Marquise Guzman.
Lunch will be provided; registration is required (https://go.rutgers.edu/equityined)
