We take care of our hair with daily shampoos and conditioning rituals, but the absence of industry regulations often puts us in harm’s way. Not So Pretty exposes the root of the problem, showing how corporations have avoided accountability for decades while consumer advocates provide need-to-know tips before you lather up. This 34-minute episode, “Hair” (Rated TV-PG, 2022), uncovers how beauty products marketed to women, especially women of color, often contain toxic chemicals linked to cancer, infertility, and hormonal disruption.
