Daily Fact Check of the Lunatic You Ejected for President

Today’s gem: SHitler just said America would have won “every war” but we were “too wokey.”

Let that sink in.

Why don’t you tell your Vietnam vets that’s why they lost the Vietnam War?

President Donald Trump managed to dismiss generations of U.S. military heroes on Friday during his announcement that he was changing the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War.

“We won the First World War. We won the Second World War. We won everything before that and in between, and then we decided to go woke, and we changed the name to Department of Defense,” Trump complained on Friday.

While the name change had been long anticipated due to the president regularly bringing it up in public, he made it official during an Oval Office order signing session on Friday afternoon.

The Department of Defense has had the name since 1949. It was changed by an act of Congress following World War II, but the president has insisted he did not need Congress to act to change it back.

“We should have won every war,” Trump said. “We could have won every war. But we, we really chose to be very politically correct or wokey.”

Trump did not name the wars the U.S. has participated in but not “won” during his Oval Office remarks, but he did elude to them.

The president suggested that going back to the Department of War was a “much more appropriate name, especially in light of where the world is right now.”

During his announcement, the president was joined by Defense Secretary turned “War Secretary” Pete Hegseth, who lavished praise on his boss.

“This name change is not just about renaming. It’s about restoring,” said the former Fox News host. “Words matter. It’s restoring, as you’ve gotten us to Mr. President, restoring the warrior ethos, restoring victory and clarity as an end state, restoring intentionality to the use of force.”

Hegseth said the department would “go on offense, not just on defense” and claimed they were going to “raise up warriors, not just defenders.”

“We just fight forever,” Trump said. “We wouldn’t lose really. We just fight, sort of tie. We never wanted to win wars that every one of them we would have won easily with just a couple of little changes or just a couple of little edicts.”

Later, while answering questions from reporters, the president repeated his claim that the U.S. could have won every war but “never fought to win.”

“We didn’t lose anything, but we didn’t fight to win,” he repeated.

However, Senator Mark Kelly, a retired astronaut and combat veteran, torched Trump for the name change effort.

“Only someone who avoided the draft would want to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War,” Senator Mark Kelly wrote in a blistering reference to the president.

Reality Check: Why America Lost in Vietnam

The U.S. military had the world’s most advanced conventional weapons, but they were fighting an enemy that wasn’t playing by conventional rules.

  • North Vietnam and the Viet Cong relied on guerrilla tactics.

  • They used the dense jungle terrain to neutralize American airpower and heavy artillery.

  • The war had no clear frontlines, making traditional U.S. strategies ineffective.

  • And—let’s not forget—American public opinion turned against the war as body bags kept coming home.

It wasn’t about “wokeness.” It was about fighting a type of war the Pentagon never trained for, with no achievable political or military objective.

Wars America Actually Lost (According to Reality, Not MAGA Fairy Tales)

If Trump wants to say “political correctness” lost wars, here’s the list he’s blaming on it:

  • Vietnam War (1955–1975): U.S. withdrawal after massive casualties, no victory.

  • Korean War (1950–1953): Ended in a stalemate; the peninsula is still divided.

  • Afghanistan (2001–2021): After 20 years, Taliban back in power the day we left.

  • Iraq War (2003–2011, ISIS resurgence after): Cost trillions, destabilized the region, no lasting victory.

  • Bay of Pigs Invasion (1961): A straight-up U.S.-backed disaster against Cuba.

  • Lebanon (1982–1984): Withdrawal after the Beirut barracks bombing killed 241 U.S. Marines.

  • Somalia (1990s): “Black Hawk Down” and the eventual pullout.

These weren’t lost because America was “too woke.”

They were lost because of bad strategy, political hubris, and underestimating the enemy.

‌At least, Pedo-in-chief admits that despite its propension to put a salad bowl on his head and attack at random, Ye Mighty Uncle Sam has not won a single war in 80 years. But that's never a good ideas to constantly insult people with weapons of war at hand and who knows how to use them…

Technically, the Korean War was a draw.  Which is one of the reasons why we still have such a pronounced presence there.

We lost Vietnam.  Plain and simple.  Many reasons, outcome not in doubt.

Bosnia Police action?  I don’t know.

Iraq?
Wow.
Even I am confused on that one.

Afghanistan? 20 years, $20 trillion, millions betrayed (by us!) to achieve what, again?

Yes, that’s a great big fat ugly L.  And we DO own it.

Anyone with tighter game/more knowledge, please do share.

Best,

Peace,

B

Have we forgotten Operation Desert Storm, the combat phase of the 1990-1991 Persian Gulf War, which began when Iraq invaded Kuwait, leading to a U.S.-led coalition's military response to liberate Kuwait and defeat the Iraqi army. The operation featured a massive air campaign, followed by a ground offensive, and was notable for its technological superiority, massive troop deployment, and its status as the first major international conflict of the post-Cold War era. Iraq was driven out of Kuwait. If I recall correctly Iraq ceased to be a military threat in the region. Saddam Hussein continued to be a problem but was eventually hanged.

Has everyone forgotten General Norman Schwarzkopf?  General Colin Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during Desert Storm and also during the invasion of Panama in 1989.

Is it possible that the successes of General Powell are to be forgotten by Trump et all because of the color of Powell's skin?
