A court just ruled that corporations have the legal right to vote in American elections. Not to spend money. Not to donate. To vote. And the Supreme Court MAGA extremist Leonard Leo built with $1.6 billion in dark money will decide whether it spreads to every election in the country.
MAGA cannot win fair elections. Trump's approval is at historic lows, Republican congressional disapproval has hit 86%, and voters are furious. So they are changing the rules. They gutted the Voting Rights Act, seized voter records in eight states, voided primary results after ballots were already cast, and built a $1.8 billion slush fund to pay the January 6th insurrectionists they need when they declare the midterms rigged.
Every step is designed to ensure that what voters want no longer determines who holds power. And the Supreme Court is the institution making all of it legal.
In 2020, state Supreme Courts were the firewall that kept the election results intact. We have been rebuilding that firewall ever since. We won in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Nevada, Kentucky, Montana, Michigan, and Minnesota are next, and every one of them will be targeted by the same dark money machine running this entire operation.
And while we hold that line, Unpack Our Courts is building the movement to reform and rebalance the Supreme Court itself. If the state firewall fails, there is no backstop. If the court is not reformed before Trump places two or three more justices, the fascist takeover they are plotting becomes a reality.
