1. Share a brief testimony or story about a time when you experience God’s leading in your life? Did you find God’s leading or did God’s leading find you?
I believe God's leading found me after God initiated the pursuit of a deeper, more enriching and intimate relationship between my Abba Father and I, His daughter of the Most High. I have been seeking God's protection and guidance for my youngest son who recently departed to the Armed Forces in the beginning of February, 2012. Initially, my driving purpose in prayer, was in addressing my concerns for God to meet my son's needs for protection, provision, and his personal walk with the Lord.
Through countless sweet hours of prayer and spending quality time in bible study, meditation, and solitude. The Lord, through the Holy Spirit expressed to me that because of his infinite love, I need not fear because my son has everything he needs. Scripture in Ps 37:4-7-"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." So I'm resting in the Lord, and waiting patiently for him...". Matt 6:33 says to "...Seek ye first and the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
2. Why is it more important to focus on what God is about to do, than to focus on our problems and concerns when we seek God’s leading? When we seek God's favor and leading, He draws us closer to Him and away from being self-centered in selfishly focusing on our own problems and concerns. God's desire is for us to be more Christ-centered and focused on the things of God in self-less and sacrificial Kingdom building for His honor and glory. When we focus on ourselves, we will miss out on experiencing God. When we focus on ourselves we miss God's divine opportunities to be a blessing to others. In addition, we will miss out on our own blessings, missions and purposes in life. We should focus our energy, time, talent, and treasure on the things God is about to do for us, in us, through us and in the world around us. God desires for us to be instruments and vessels for His use to bring others to the knowledge of himself and gain eternal life.
When we are seeking God's leading, it is important for us to tell our problems and concerns how great and mighty our God is; and stop telling God, how great a burden, our problems and concerns are.
2b. The assurance that we have in knowing what God is about to do, comes when our spiritual eyes are opened to see God's activity around us. In Spiritual maturity we can trust God in faithful obedience and have genuine and sincere faith in him to do the impossible; as we patiently wait on His leading through the Holy Spirit to invite us to become actively involved in what he is doing.
3. What do you think about prayer, Scripture, and circumstances lining up in discerning God’s will for our lives? I consistently seek God's will, direction, guidance and instructions, concerning His will and plans for me and my family. It is so amazing how God uses the vehicles of prayer, Scripture, dreams, visions and strong urges within my spirit as His Spirit bears witness with my spirit and I hear His still small but effect voice within my spirit. God ultimately knows how to get my attention to experience Him through circumstances and situations. God also confirms His Word to me through Sunday school and the preached Word, Bible study meetings and the testimonials of other believers to reveal His plans, desires, will and purposes for me and my family. He desires for me to always watch and pray to see what He is doing and then at His invitation revealed, to join in His work.
4. How do we know when God is about to do something according to
Blackaby? We know when God is about to do something in us, for us, and through us and in the world around us, when
God pursues a love relationship with us. Then He invites us to become actively involved with Him in His work.
4b. How can you know if God wants you to be involved in what He is doing? According to Blackaby, as God relates to us, He discloses himself, His purposes and His ways. God's invitation for us to work with Him always leads us to a crisis of belief which requires faith and action.
We face a crisis of belief when God calls us to an assignment, that we cannot accomplish apart from His divine intervention. God's assignments involves things that are always eternal, divine dimensions, implications, and possibilities. (Blackaby, 58)
4c. What are the conditions for you being able to recognize the activity of God around you? We have to persevere with determination. We have to walk by faith if we want to experience God's mighty power at work in and through us. We have to make major adjustments in our thoughts, attitude, words, deeds and character.
We must trust and obey whatever God tells us to do; as He accomplishes His work through us. We must remain alert, flexible, moldable, teachable, available and accessible to Him.
5. How would you assess your relationship with God in those areas? Are you ready to receive God’s directions in those areas of your life right now?
I would assess my relationship with God as a loving, growing, intimate, spiritually maturing relationship. God is speaks to me and with me all the time. The seven realities as presented by Blackaby, I am experiencing in my life, as I continue to experience God everyday in my life. To God be the Glory. Amen.

1) This week I was having a conversation with a person in my family who has chosen to no longer believe in the Bible. As the discussion progressed I began to be lead to ask the person non confrontational questions about their belief system and then I began to explain my points from the Bibles point of view which exposed the lies of the enemy. Well that family member has now begun to seek answers about creation from the Bible’s point of view in order to explain how science works versus just thinking science is an explanation of all things. I feel like God’s leading found me in that case.
2) It is important to live a God centered life which allows you to be open and available to God’s plans. It will help you to understand that God is committed to completing his purpose in your life and it causes you to “lean not to your own understanding”. God’s word states in” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore we can be assured that God has our situations all under control.
3) I agree that our prayers should be directed towards God revealing his will for us, which is confirmed by his instruction in scripture while navigating through the circumstances that he allows in our individual lives.
4) According to Blackaby “God is about to do something” when he gives an individual an invitation to adjust their lives to a place of obedience to him. The individual then should allow themselves to develop God’s perspective and allow God to cultivate His character within through the revelation of his thoughts to us. God takes the initiative to reveal his work to us and our responsibility is to always join in, however we must be careful to discern God’s desires from our own. The conditions for me to be able to recognize God working around me are focus on God’s ability rather than my ability, to seek for God’s divine revelation of his will and the love relationship with God that allows me to be in a position of submission / obedience to his will.
5) As I access my relationship with God in regards to these area’s I see room for improvement to be honest and I am ready to receive God’s direction in those areas right now.
