List 5 keys to effective Discipleship that you would like to introduce to your youth ministry, why?
As a youth leader, our goal is to produce genuine followers of Jesus among our young people. I would stress the importance in our young people the following key and vital elements to make our discipleship efforts more effective: about:
1. Passion to be Christ-like. I advocate that we continue to find creative and innovative ways to encourage our youth to make a conscious decision to be more passionate about living for Christ. Through the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit they need to strive to know Jesus, do His will gratefully, and determine to be more like Him.
2. Interactive: I advocate that our youth engage in total participation in the discipleship process. We need to implement better ways of making the process appealing, fun, relevant, creative, interactive and accountable. In addition, assisting the youth in seeking opportunities to build meaningful godly relationships is paramount to making the youth effective disciples
3. Depth of personal ownership and taking personal responsibility: takes commitment, courage and determination to identify their personal spiritual growth goals and work to complete them. Having a clear understanding of the purpose and the vision of the discipleship process is vital to their spiritual growth and maturity. I advocate having them sign a personal commitment form to pursuing their goals.
4. Multifaceted: each youth disciple should be encouraged to engage in and seek out opportunities for spiritual development and growth in various areas of ministry. Their involvement is contingent upon their personal commitment to the area of ministry, spiritual giftedness and maturity.
5. Lifelong: The transformation into a true disciple of Christ Jesus is a lifelong. And permanent process. It is a way of life in deepening a relationship with Jesus, personal sacrifice, and daily being molded to be more like Jesus, by studying the Word and applying it. I advocate assisting our youth to enjoy the journey of true discipleship and absolutely know that it is a wonderful privilege to be a disciple of Christ and to serve Him well.

1) The first for me is Christ Like - if we keep Jesus Christ as the model of our all of our efforts. If for some reason we loose our way in the process we always have the Lord Himself as our final blue print for completing his mission.
2) Second is passion. If people don't have a sense of passion in regards to becoming more like Christ it really won't matter what skills are sharpened or what techniques are used there will be none or very little progression.
3) Third I would say is maturity because it focuses on the ability to reach one's highest potential in Christ. It's the complete development of a person or persons. They are totally committed and invested in a personal way to becoming spiritually mature.
4) Process is key as well everyone has an individual journey on the way to maturity. It is important to have experience that sharpen and develop skills to assist in the spiritual growth needed for maturity.
5)Lastly i feel effective discipleship has to be interactive. If you do not have the involvement of others to provide a level of objectivity and accountability.
