After reading PAGES 165-185, (chapters 12 & 13)
1-How does God speaks through the bible? God reveals His spiritual truths, commands, life principles to us through the person of the Holy Spirit in the Bible.
As we grow in a loving relationship with God, and spiritually mature, He opens our spiritual eyes, and speaks to our heart, and mind, the truths of the Word of God. When we meditate on the Word, we can "hear" his vibrant, loving, convicting living voice of God-Himself as He speaks to us through the bible. Heb 4:12. as we read the Bible, we are truly encountering God-Himself as we experience His working in our lives through the Holy Spirit.

Through the pages of the Bible, God gives us clear direction, guidance and instruction extremely invaluable personal and, practical counsel to govern our lives through His Word. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim. 3:16,17)

2-How does God speaks through prayer? It is so magnificent that our Father God loves us and pursues a relationship so much, that He created the free gift of prayer that we can connect with God, anytime, anywhere, for anything. Prayer is a relationship and a two way conversation with our Heavenly Father. Prayer requires the skill of listening for God's confirmation, directives and perspectives, through the Holy Spirit and through the Word of God. God initiates the desire in us to pray. As we seek God's will and agree with Him in prayer, the Holy Spirit reveals His truth to us in prayer. This is a Divine encounter with God as we experience Him. We adjust our thinking and our attitudes, in humility and holy reverence, according to God's truth. We walk by faith, trusting and obeying God, as we watch and wait for Him to accomplish His purpose in us. as His Presence helps us to know that God is at work in our lives.

3-What steps are you taking in adjusting your life to the scripture?
Prayer and The Word are ultimate ways to connect with God. I love to pray, intercede for others and read, study and meditate on the Word; and celebrate and practice the other disciplines that we studied last term by Foster.

This year I am reading through the entire Bible and finding deeper meaning of life principles in God's perspectives. I always find that God suddenly grabs my attention and I find new and refreshing revelation knowledge, divine wisdom and understanding. Phil 4:13 says, "I can do all things thru Christ which strengthens me".

God speaks to me through reading the Bible, believers, circumstances and in prayer. I am making a consistent and diligent effort to adjust my life through the truth of God's Word by listening more attentively and more carefully to God as he speaks His directives, guidance, instructions and teachings in my spirit and reveals His purposes and His ways. I am finding that my faith soars, as I trust Him more, claim His promises, and obey His will and desires in my life.

This course is helping me to discover that as I encounter God, I am experiencing Him. In His strength alone, I am adjusting my life accordingly to His Truth. I pray, I pay close attention, watch and wait on God as He works it out for my good and the good of others, in my life. I spiritually discern His responses to my prayers and record the Scriptures and His responses in a journal.

4-What is most challenging for you? What is challenging for me truthfully, is when God is sometimes silent. Although theses are significant times in my life to get to know more about God, I still struggle with it. To deal with this I continue to read the Word, pray the Word and I can hear God speaking directly to me, loud and clear. I have a growing faith that God will reveal His will and His way to me. I believe that He will help me to understand what He is doing in my life so that my life will glorify and honor Him.

It is amazing to me to know that a loving, personal and awesome Sovereign God responds to His people when we pray and stay humble, obedient, and faithful. (2 Chron 7:14-15) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is made in this place."

Chapter 9
1) You read the word of God – The Bible. The spirit of truth takes
the word of God and reveals truth. You adjust your life to the truth
of God, you obey him, and God works in and through you to accomplish
his purpose.
2) According to page 175 God takes the initiative by causing you to
want to pray. Then the Holy Spirit through the word of God reveals to
you the will of God. You pray in the spirit and come into agreement
with the Will of God. You adjust your life to the Truth (God). You
then look and listen for confirmation or further direction from the
Bible, circumstances and /or other believers. You obey God works in
and through you to accomplish his purposes. You experience Him just as
the spirit revealed to you when you prayed.
3) I’ve become less “involved” with the world around me. I often
find myself gravitating to a quiet place so that I can just reflect on
how good God really is. I am more conscious of waiting for God to
invite me to do things and I find myself having a low tolerance for
“church as usual”. I really try to wait for God’s direction before I
do anything.
4) I’m challenged in finding balance currently. I’m married and my
husband is not as strong in his walk with Christ as I am at this
present time. I also, work fulltime and I have a great deal of
responsibility between home and church. I feel God pushing me in a
certain direction; however I really am a bit confused on how he would
like for me to proceed and / or operate at this time. I lack time and
freedom that I would like to have in order to just lay before God and
wit on him to give instruction due to all of “my clutter” in my
schedule. I am currently searching for a way to balance my life so
that nothing is neglected or going in lack.

Chapter 10
1) Job always tried to understand his situation from God’s
perspective. He never allowed himself to listen to his circumstance or
even other people’s interpretation of his circumstance. He always
trusted in God’s plan to work for his good. He didn’t question God’s
intentions toward him, but rather chose to look at his difficult and
confusing issues through the heart of God. He knew that God’s
intentions toward him were always coming from a perspective of Love.
2) Two and ½ years ago I was driving down the highway and my car just
stalled in the middle of traffic and when I had it towed to the
dealership I was told that it was going to cost five thousand dollars
to replace my engine. I didn’t have any transportation and my credit
wasn’t the best. My husband’s employment had recently been downgraded
to partime, however after much prayer and searching God used a man at
another dealership to work with us and we were blessed to drive a 2000
Saturn SL2 for a payment that we could afford. Right after we got the
car my husband’s position was downsized all together, however God
allowed me to make every payment. The car had many challenges
especially a very loud exhaust system that couldn’t ever seem to be
repaired properly and it had begun to stall on the side of the rode if
you drove it for more then 15 minutes, but that didn’t bother me
because I only had a few more payment to make and I was going to put
the payment into repairing that wile saving the rest of the money to
catch up on some traveling I wanted to do. Well wouldn’t you know it
exactly 30 days before my last payment was due the car shut off on
me in the middle of rush our traffic during my 8 minute ride home from
work . As I sat there in traffic watching the cars go by for about an
hour I began to pray about my situation. I began to sort of feel
frustrated and wondered why me, however God allowed me to get to my
destination safely. The next day I was expected to go to a very
prestigious meeting for work which was about 20 minutes away. So, I
prayed before I left and decided to use my lunch plus the travel time
issued by the job to get to my meeting (covering all of my bases).
Well, I guess you know the car shut off 3 different times and I was
exactly two minutes late to my meeting. When I walked in the
executives were already seated and I had to walk through the crowd to
find a seat. I wanted to just cry. I quietly prayed during the meeting
in regards to my journey home and in regards to my transportation
needs in the future. After I prayed the Holy Spirit reminded me that
the car dealership was just down the road from where I was and they
offer free oil changes. Although I didn’t know what an oil change
could do for me I decided to go on anyway. I called the dealership and
they had an opening for me to come right in. As I puttered down the
very busy road placing the car in neutral from time to time to prevent
it from stalling I was reminded that my car title was in the Bible
lying on the back seat. When I pulled into the service center and
registered the car with the mechanics, I was prepared to sit in the
waiting room and pray that the oil change would do the trick, but I
felt unction to go to the show room floor. A sales guy asked me if I
was interested in making a purchase and I said I’m not sure yet. He
later led me to the man who sold me the car two years ago. The
salesman remembered me and greeted me by telling me that he knew I
would be in to trade my car. I explained my situation and I also
explained that I didn’t want an high payment if I was going to get a
car because I really wanted to save for a cruise with my car payment
money. He convinced me to test drive a vehicle, so I went to pick up
my husband. By the time we returned he had a deal for us that kept the
car payments the same and I could leave the lot with the vehicle no
money ever changing. Hands. In one instance I had been upgraded by God
from a 200 Saturn to a 2009 Chevy HHR with my entire wish list
fulfilled as far as the features go at no out of pocket expense to
me. God used my old car as the down payment for my new car because
the dealership paid more than the blue book value for my trade. I mean
in less than three hours of following the voice of God he had worked a
real miracle.
3) The church allows you to come together with other believers and
study God’s word. We also have a chance to share experiences and
witness other’s experience God which will increase our faith. We also
have an opportunity to study the Word and pray together. We have
personal encounters with God in a public setting , so he ministers to
us as a body while speaking to us induvidually as well.
