As I draw closer to God in a deeper more intimate relationship with Him and daily surrender my all to Him, God reveals his plans and His will to me. Once I know His will as I experience God. I can see the hand of God directing, guiding and leading me and accomplishing His plan through me for my life and impacting the lives of others. Through the help and teaching of His Holy Spirit I continue to remain pliable and teachable like clay in my Master Potter's hands. I am fruitful and productive as I line up my life with His Word. I adjust my life to his plans, desires and purposes, leaving the outcome to God. Doing God's will- His way, is always best. Jerm 29:11-14a says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD,
2. The cultural emphasis of this generation is a lifestyle that is highly competitive and technologically advanced, and very self-centered. Today, people are more driven to succeed, and are more encouraged to focused on "being at their very best" at all times and "doing their very best" at everything-their way and without God. Can you hear Frank Sinatra in the background crooning to "And I did it my way..."?
In our worldly narrow-minded approach, we tend to focus on our physical strengths and abilities, accomplishments, spiritual gifts, and talents. We often feel, "I'm good at this or that. God needs what I've got, so it must be His will". This is being arrogant, self-centered, selfish, ignorant and prideful. With our head's EGO, we "edge God out" and actually carve out a place for ourselves, whether or not it is God's will for us. then we are left to reap what we have sown. God doesn't want us to depend or rely on what we have been given by Him. We must avoid the temptation to rush in ahead of God, which promptly leads us out of His will. We must love God enough to be patient and wait on Him with our heart's EGO to "Exalt God Only". We have to heed 2 Chron 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." As we seek the face of God we can lead like Jesus, and say, Father God, "It is not my will, but thy will be done" (Matt 26:42),
CHAPTER 4
The Blackabys in Experiencing God (p.48)state that, "The call to salvation carries with it a summons to be on a mission with God as He reconciles a lost world to Himself. "
Matt. 22:14 declares that "For many are called, but few are chosen." I believe that those of the household of faith whom God calls, he empowers and equips to carry out this divine mission of the Great Commission of Matt 28:19-20 to "Go and tell" the Good News of salvation to a broken, hurting, lost world, dying without Christ. Therefore, the called of God must prepare themselves in being faithful and true servants on 'a high priority divine mission' of our Most Holy God in authenticity, humility, love, obedience and reverence. I believe that we are called to serve like Jesus. He is our greatest and most faithful rolemodel.
We must be as Paul prayed in Ephes 3:16-19 be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God."
Daily we need to fall in love with Jesus again and again and delve into the riches of the Word of God. His heartbeat for reaching the lost should reverberate loudly within our hearts; as we remain accessible, available, fit and prepared for the Master's use. Then we can say like the prophets and great men of faith, "Here am I, Lord. Send me."
2. I'm a firm believer that God delights in using ordinary people from ordinary walks of life to accomplish his extraordinary purposes for His honor and glory. Every man, woman and child, (except Jesus), whom God called to do a great task for Him was an ordinary flawed, at times weak and fearful human being. (Gideon, and Jonah comes to mind). When others realize the favor and grace of God working with the(unexceptional) individual, then God gets the greatest glory. So we don't have to fear our ordinary status. God is preparing us to accomplish great things in and thru us to make a big difference for Him in this world.
I'm reminded of the hymn, 'His grace is sufficient for me. His love is abounding and free. And what joy oh my soul, just to know, just to know. That His grace is sufficient for me.'
According to the Apostle Paul in 2 Cor. 12: 9-10, God said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. I too can say as an ordinary woman of God, "His grace is sufficient for me. Because in my weakness God alone is my strength and my joy.
