IMPORTANT - APRIL 6TH NYC MARCH FOR SUDAN - we need your help

Dear Friends, 

There is going to be a NYC March for Sudan on Saturday, April 6th, 2019.  The march will go from Times Square to the UN / Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, where there will be a program with speakers (at Dag H. from 2pm-4pm). 

Unfortunately, I am NOT going to be in town and we need a lot of help.  They are expecting up to 5000 people from all over the country, in light of the major activities happening in Sudan. 

There will be flyers soon that people can use to publicize the event to your groups but in the meantime we need some help on the following:

Does anybody have a direct contact to major potential speakers (such as Mayor De Blasio, Letitia James, Jerry Nadler - or any other very prominent speakers) for any time during the 2pm-4pm portion of the event? 

Also, can somebody volunteer to be the main point person for this event -- including liaison with Motasim Adam and the other organizers. 

Can somebody be in charge of contacting the press, etc. etc.?  (Laura, I know that you are helping out some, as always!)

Does anyone have contacts at STAND so that the students can get involved?

Can people help set up at Dag Hamm Plaza starting at 1:40pm?

I know it's a lot to ask in a short time but history is being made and April 6th is a significant day in Sudanese history and has been used to motivate activists who promote reform in Sudan.   Unfortunately, due to work and family obligations, I do not have as much time to devote to this as I would like and it is very important.
