Greetings,

I see that a few of you have subscribed to this Google list. Welcome.

As it says in the group description on our website, this the public zone of the New World Roundtable. There's also a private zone, hosted on Yahoo. On the Yahoo list we've spent quite a bit of time establishing our ground rules, getting to know one another, and working out how we're going to operate. I want to keep that group small, as it is unmoderated, and it is very difficult to maintain an unmoderated group. It is so easy for circular debates and flaming to get started, as I'm sure all of you have experienced.

This Google list is moderated, and anyone can join. Partly the purpose of this public zone is to publicize whatever results and documents that are generated in the private zone. But we don't need to limit it to that. I invite you to send in self-introductions so we can find out about one another, and we can do our own discussing here. I've updated our group description as follows:
This is the public zone of the New World Roundtable. The roundtable is devoted to the goal of transforming society, ending elite rule, and establishing genuine participatory democracy worldwide.

At the moment, there are two documents in our files section
Empowered communities – a project proposal.pdf
The Credit Bank Development Model.pdf

Personally, my primary project these days is promoting the Credit Bank Model. I see that not only as a way for communities to achieve economic prosperity, but also as a way to bring communities together, so they can develop a process of inclusive self-governance. Of course I'd welcome working on that project together here, but that is by no means a requirement. Feel free to send in your own ideas and we can see what develops.

best wishes,
richard
