Have you noticed a few holes in your Kale, Broccoli or Cabbage? It's
Looper season and they have been spotted at Simcoe These creatures
roam the garden tooking to satisfy an enormous appetite. These 'little
green worms' like to hide under leaves and nibble away at night; come
morning the worms are a lot fatter after a long night of feasting.
Your best defence is to:

1. Search your brassica plants esp. under the leaves for any worms
and squish them. Look for tiny eggs the size of a pin head and show
them the same fate. They can multiply quickly so check frequently.

2. A garlic/chilies spray will do wonders - a head of garlic chopped
and steeped in water overnight - a dash of tobasco or chili flakes and
you are set to go. Spray entire plant lightly and coat the undersides
of leaves. Reapply after any rain or foliar watering. Neem oil spray
is also a great defence
