Hello,

A quick update on two new community gardens we are looking at starting up in 2011.

We recently met at St. Barnabus Church (5th Avenue, 10th Street), who has agreed to partner with New Westminster Mental Health and ourselves to start a new community garden on their property. We walked through the site this morning and looked at all of the land they agreed we could transform into garden space - it looks very promising!

I'm also very excited about 7th Avenue and 5th Street, where there are very large grass boulevards that could be turned into another new community garden. Heritage Wellness Center who is located near that corner on 5th Street has agreed to partner with us and is enthusiastic about it. This is a great location being so close to 6th and 6th.

I welcome anyone who would like to get involved in the process to please drop me a line. We would love to team up with more people and organizations - especially in those neighbourhoods to help make this happen. Please feel free to forward this on to anyone you think may be interested.

Take care,
Brennan
