What will replace adobe flashlayer next year? ie;after adobe and google stop supporting?

Currenty use windows 7 and utilize flashplayer for many services, including work issues etc-and Netfllix.  l am not too compute literate, but heard of HTML 5 etc. Any help with this concern would be appreciated. Will flashplayer still function?
