to New Sgaw Karen Hymnal
Since one of the hoped-for goals of the new hymnal will be to
facilitate common worship by mixed congregations of Karen and English
speakers, perhaps somewhat like the bimonthly bilingual communion
services (Japanese & English) at Seattle's Japanese Baptist Church, it
is worth looking at the cases where the 1963 Sgaw Karen hymnal gives
what purport to be translations of well-known English hymns, but set
to tunes rarely if ever encountered in English-language hymnals. I
posted eight such cases the other day at CCEL's hymnary.org Hymnary

There are other such cases, which I will gradually add.
