1898: President Lorenzo Snow issues a statement that polygamy has ceased in Utah.

1968: Gallup opinion poll lists David O. McKay as second most admired religious leader in America. Richard James Cushing, Roman Catholic cardinal of Boston, is most admired.

1988: New York Times reports that the fertility rate declined in Utah for the first time since the arrival of Mormons.
