Historic events in New Mormon History on 12/25
1884: John Taylor's revelation repeating the previous requirement for priesthood leaders to live plural marriage, with the promise: "I will be your shield and protector, and your strong tower and no man shall be able to hurt you, for I will be your defense." Text available but never canonized or officially published.

1917: according to Apostle David O. McKay, is "one of the most glorious celebrations of our Lord for over 1600 years," because of British government's Balfour Declaration establishing Palestine as homeland for Jews.
