1849: Apostle George A. Smith writes sixteen-year-old Joseph Smith III, asking him to come to Utah, with or without his mother.

1890: a plural wife writes of her husband: "We are more like lovers than husband and wife for we are so far removed from each other [-] there is always the embarrassment of lovers and yet we have been married more than 37 years."

1976: LaMoin Merkley, LDS high priest, enters the Hall of Fame of intercollegiate athletics (wrestling). Mark Schultz, convert, enters the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (1995).
