Hi Julie,

Please share this with others who may be interested:

I’m writing to invite you to join a community-based collaboration called “More Kids in the Winter Woods”.

Talking Talons has been hired by the US Forest Service to facilitate this project.  The goal is to increase winter recreational and educational activities in the Sandias for kids and people of all ages.  We are holding a Community Meeting September 23 in Albuquerque to gather public input and recruit people to join the collaboration (from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center — flyer attached).

We are looking at four focus areas:
  • Access — improving access up Hwy 536 and at parking lots when it snows
  • Capulin — opening Capulin Snow Play Area
  • Trails — improving winter trail options for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and hikers
  • Environmental Education — developing more of these activities

We hope you can join us!
