A. What is leadership?

Leadership is a process of influence. Anytime you seek to influence the thinking, behavior, or development of people in their personal or professional lives, you are taking on the role of a leader.

B. What is the most dramatic difference between life role leadership and organizational leadership?

The most dramatic difference between life role leadership and organizational leadership involves the permanence of the relationships the leader is trying to influence. Life role leaders function in enduring lifelong relationships as parent, spouses, siblings, friends, and citizens, where duty and obligation cannot be easily relinquished or discarded. Organizational leaders, on the other hand, operate for a season in an environment of temporary relationship and change. People in positions come and go in organizations for all sorts of reason. This lack of stability often breeds a degree of reserve and qualified commitment acted out in the arena of competitive office politics.

C. What is your view on the statement of Jesus, Matthew 20:25-28 (New International Version) Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.  Not so with you, Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Jesus called us as servants, who will serve Lord and also others. From Matthew 20:25-28, we can see that Servant leadership is not an option but it is a mandatory. As we serve the Lord, we should show our Love and passion to others and we should attract other to Christ. We should lead like Jesus, and the best part is that He never sends us into any situation alone or with flawed plan or a plan to fail.

D. Comment on the statement on page 24-25 trust is essential for two people to work together

Without trust, it is impossible for any organization to function effectively. Trust is essential for two people to work together. It is important to note, though, that the outcome of trust will never be achieved or maintained if the first arena of development – personal leadership has not been addressed. If one person does not trust other one in one-to-one relationship, then the output will become a failure.

If one person does not trust other one in one-to-one relationship, then the output will become a failure. When the ability to develop and sustain trust in one-on-one relationships is applied at the team and family level, it produces empowerment and community. Failure to empower is one of the key reasons that teams are ineffective.
