Why is it important to shift from?
1. A program-driven ministry to people-driven ministry?
2. From emphasis on building consensus to building character?
Building consensus in Christian ministry can be derived as “Leaders/Pastors are teaching believers in churches and ask them for their decision, so some will agree and some will disagree. It is more like a force applied on the believers to follow that. But Christian character is formed by our commitment to Christ. When we surrender to Christ and allow His piercing work to grow and enrich us, so that the Spirit flows. Our spiritual discipline, motives, obedience, and persevering faith will be the keys! All it takes is to be in love with Christ. Seek His presence, grow in your discipleship and be persistent in your prayers and in so doing you will be building your Character too.
So rather giving an option to live, follow to build a Christian character from the heart so the future will be more powerful.
3. Retool developmental ministry efforts from being unrelated and
haphazard to being intentional and strategic
In any ministry organized approach will give a good result. Especially in Christian ministry, planning and correct approach will give a good result, which includes learning, pray, preparing and thinking about the different approaches, finally we could end with some good approach. When we do a timely plan, we will get time to pray and God will show us a good path. So intentional and strategic efforts are really a good practice in discipleship.
4. How important is for disciples to reproduce themselves in Christ?
The end goal of disciples is both personal and corporate. The personal goal is to live a life worthy of the name Christian. The corporate goal is to introduce other people to Jesus, help them to understand the good values for Christian life. Jesus said “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). An individual who does not reproduce himself in Christ doesn’t exhibit the selfless love of the Master. So it is really important is for disciples to reproduce themselves in Christ. Jesus said “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and shall ye be my disciples.” (John 15:8).
