This topic is a duplicate of another discussion.

Worship:-

You were redirected Because worship is of high importance in the church, all members should be encouraged to be engaged in this aspect of adoration to God.In my church, I believe that to better engage the members in worship, they need to be encouraged to: (1) Arrive at church prayed-up and ready for worship; (2) Have their minds centered on the things of heaven and a lot less on the various activities of the hour; and (3) The singing of worshipful songs and choruses led by the Praise and Worship team who have come fully prepared to lift the congregation spiritually to a higher level of praise and worship. Such songs and choruses ought to be well known or easily learned so as to become impactful. Then finally, the stage having been set, all members need to become fully engaged in act of worship. (1 Chron 16: 23-31) (Ps 29:1-2) (John 4: 21-24)

Evangelism:-

Evangelism, a tool used by believers to share the Gospel, as well as a principle for assisting new believers in their spiritual growth. I believe the members of my church could be better engaged by: (1) Training in the techniques of one-to-one witnessing; (2) Have members actually engaged in this process, starting with the family, then neighbors, friends, co-workers and thereafter, engage the general public; and (3) Follow through to encourage the new converts in their newly found faith and help them become established in the church. (Acts 2: 41-47)

Discipleship:-

This is a process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit to become more Christ-like and overcoming the pressures etc. of this life. All Christians should be involved in discipleship. There is always the need to disciple our new members .  In my church, not all members are matured in the Faith and could do with the help of someone else who would come alongside them and lend them some support. This might be in the form of helping them to read and understand the scriptures. Clarifying and answering nagging questions of someone whose faith is being tested.  It could mean simply, just being there; and holding them accountable for what they do as they grow in the Lord daily. (John 28:20)

Dear All,
Please see my response below.

Discipleship & Evangelism; Chapter 4 Growing True Disciples, George Barna

What can your church do to better engage its members in? :

Worship

Worship is really important in believer’s life; it’s the time for give thanksgiving to our God and also for worship the Lord. We had worship on every Sunday which includes songs, prayers testimonies and sermon. One important fact in worship is that we should feel the presence of God, and be able to communicate with Him. According to George Barna, these days’ all believers are not feeling the presence of God in worship service; some are coming to services because it is needed according to scripture. The best way to get a clear communication with God can be accomplished by prepare ourselves (each believer) before coming to church for worship. And also we need unity in worship. There are various age groups in our church, so leadership should focus on each group and give equal important to each group.

Evangelism

I think my church is encouraging believers to do evangelism. But all people are not really interested to do ministry in public. My suggestion is to find a core group to do ministry and train them and equip them to face the world. Currently we are involved in street evangelism and also doing personal evangelism by few believers. But if there is a trained core group available, they can encourage each other also encourages other believers to do evangelism, also they can be find time for prayer meeting especially for evangelism. We are doing some volunteer work like Car wash day to attract people to church also to spread the word of God. Musical concerts are really good to attract non-believers to church. Also timely communication and follow up needed after the events.

Discipleship

This is most needed one in Christian ministry. As we read from Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” In order to achieve this, believers need training and preparation in Christian ministry. We should arrange more special training and also encourage believers to grow in Christ. Leadership should be more active in this area. It is very difficult to involve all believers in this area, but it is important that we should identify a core group and give training and encourage them more. This will help to make them strong in Christ also it will be an encouragement for others.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

With Prayers
