Pandemic Boosts Canal Trail Use by 55%!

Dear Friend of the Farmington Canal,

I just wanted to make sure you saw this article in the New Haven Independent last week about our participation in the CT Trail Census and the enormous spike in trail usage we have seen since the lockdown began:

Please let me know what you are seeing out there on the Trail. Are there any issues with how people are using the Trail? Is there signage we should be putting up to remind people about social distancing and other safety protocols? 

Also if you would like to do some cleaning up along the trail and need any supplies (pickers, leaf bags, graffiti removal equipment, etc.), please let me know and we can get those for you.

Hi Aaron,

    I would be interested in doing some cleanup on the trail with at least one other person, at a safe distance. Anyone available? My schedule is very flexible.

PS Though I personally use the trail less because it's so crowded, at least in Hamden :)
