Dear Friends of the Farmington Canal,

Tonight at 6pm at the Q House is an important meeting about creating multimodal connections to the Bus Rapid Transit corridor proposed for Dixwell Avenue.

I already spoken to the consultants and they will definitely be including the Canal Grenway in their plans as a parallel and complementary transportation asset, but it would be great if someone from our Friends community could attend and reinforce the message (unfortunately I will not be able to attend).

Thanks!

Hope to see some of you at Ride the State this weekend.

Dear Safe Streets,

There are a couple important meetings/events coming up this week that I wanted to make sure you knew about:

* Dixwell & Newhallville Traffic-Calming Meeting, Thursday, June 26, 6pm (Dixwell Q House)
City officials will present plans for preparing Dixwell for Bus Rapid Transit with additional traffic calming and multi-modal connections. They will also present on traffic-calming proposals for Winchester Avenue.
See attached flyer.

* Route 10 and Route 1 Walk Audit, Sunday, June 29, 1-3pm (Meet at West River Memorial Park)
Members of the West River Watershed Coalition, Stronger Haven and West River Memorial Park Renew Team will conduct a follow-up to the roadway safety walk audit they conducted earlier this year on Derby Avenue and Ella Grasso Boulevard. This time the focus will be on the southern perimeter of West River Memorial Park, including Ella Grasso Boulevard and Route 1. More info here.

Also thanks to Rishabh Mittal & Strong Towns/ Stronger Haven for coordinating a really good crash analysis virtual workshop on Ella Grasso Boulevard last night. Rishabh along with some great panelists from the neighborhood, Leslie Radcliffe and Jose Dejesus, offered excellent input on how to fix this dangerous roadway. I look forward to their next crash analysis studio!
