Friends,

Just a few things I wanted to notify you about:

* Trail Clean-Up in Newhallville, Saturday September 6, 9am, Bassett/Watson Greenspace in Newhallville

This just came across the transom -- not an event we are organizing but it's organized by a trail user who let us know about it. They will be meeting at the Bassett /Watson Greenspace (where the Trail intersects with Bassett Street) at 9am and cleaning up the blocks around the New Haven/ Hamden town line. Bring gloves if you can.

Contact Katharen Wiese for details (kathare...@gmail.com) or to find out about future trail clean-ups she is organizing.

* Come See Us at CT Green Expo, September 6, Edgerton Park

We will be tabling at the CT Green Expo taking place this Saturday at Edgerton Park. The event begins at 11am and runs throughout the day with music until 10pm (we will probably be there until mid-afternoon). If you have any trail-related issues or questions, come over and tell us! Or if you just happen to be in the area, stop by and say hello!

The CT Folk Festival originally began three decades ago as a fundraiser for the Trail and we are grateful for our 30+ year relationship with them.

Event flyer attached.

* CT Trails Symposium, Friday, October 3, CT State Manchester (Manchester Community College)

Registration is now open for the annual CT Trails Symposium taking place Friday, October 3 at CT State Manchester (formerly Manchester Community College). This is an excellent and informative conference with trail advocates from around CT sharing best practices and talking about important legislation related to trails, greenways and outdoor recreation. We are organizing a panel on building a network of greenways in New Haven -- it should be a great panel!

* Fussy Coffee Closes 😢

While we are very sorry to see the sudden closure of Fussy Coffee, one of the beloved businesses along the Trail, we are grateful to them for 7 great years in the neighborhood.

We are having conversations with different stakeholders about how to continue having a café or other business in this space that caters to trail users. Stay tuned!
