Hi New Harvest, I joined the New Harvest team just few months ago, so I jumped at the opportunity to put together our 2020 Annual Report. I figured it would be a crash course in the impact of our recent accomplishments and where we’re heading next.
Sure enough, I was right.
What I learned was that 2020 was an ambitious year of transition and experimentation at New Harvest—all made possible through donor support. And I’m thrilled to share my findings with you! Extra points for anyone who can identify the inspiration for the cover design! Hint: it too was a compilation of greatest hits — circa 1987! Honestly, I was gobsmacked by how much this group of thoughtful, committed individuals managed to get done last year—especially considering the state of the world at the time.
Amid some exciting operational changes, the team spent months closely working with the community to map out the next five years, while coordinating the first industry-wide collective action and doubling the size of the research program!

More than anything, this report is a tribute to our community—a testament to what we can achieve when we work together to ensure cellular agriculture delivers on its promises sooner rather than later.
After all, we couldn’t do what we do without your ongoing support.
The experience of compiling our annual report left me with an overwhelming sense of pride to be a part of this community. I hope you feel the same after reading it. With gratitude,
