She's leading one of our major three-year initiatives
Hello Isha,

Last year, we announced New Harvest's focus on Canada as we work to strengthen the agricultural foundations of cellular agriculture and biomanufacturing.

We’re kicking things off with a major three-year initiative aimed at building out food biomanufacturing, enhancing value-added agriculture, and creating a more food-secure future while boosting Canada’s agriculture sector.

Thanks to all the donors who have been contributing matching funds to this massive project. You can continue to have your donation matched 1:1 here.

To lead this mission, we have brought on our newest team member.

Let's welcome Miranda Stahn, Program Manager for Western Canada!

Miranda is an outstanding leader in knowledge translation and public outreach. Driven by the mantra of getting the right technology into the hands of the right people at the right time, she has leveraged these skills to help companies, not-for-profits, and organizations craft unique brand identities that truly resonate with the tech community. She’s been a strong advocate for boosting Canada’s biomanufacturing sector and championing the inclusion of diverse voices in the entrepreneurial space.

With her incredible experience in the Prairies ecosystem, and solid background in molecular biology and chemical engineering, she’s the perfect fit to oversee this exciting project.

Fun fact: one of the first blog posts I stumbled upon about cell ag in Canada was written by Miranda—it was her piece on Future Fields (Founded by former NH grantee Matt Anderson-Baron!!) for the Science Writers & Communicators of Canada (SWCC) blog. Check it out!

Miranda has been part of the New Harvest community for a couple of years now, including being on our Canadian Board of Directors.

I can’t wait to work closely with her, especially since we both share a love for science communication and policy. Plus, she’s an awesome advocate for bringing together arts and science through her Fission to Fusion (F2F) Collective. If you’re into dance and science, you won’t want to miss it!

If you’d like to send Miranda an introduction, a warm welcome, or words of encouragement, feel free to reach out at mir...@new-harvest.org or on her LinkedIn!

Talk soon,
