Happy Friday!  This morning, the USDA opened a two month comment period to inform rulemaking about how cultured meat should be labeled. Clean meat? Cultured meat? Cultivated meat? Many a name has been proposed. But what has been litigated on Twitter has now reached the highest level of government. And they want YOU to weigh in.  If you're looking for inspiration - last year, the FDA held a similar comment period about cultured seafood. They received 35 comments which you can read here.  FELLOW SPOTLIGHT HUGE shoutout to Allison Esperanza, research fellow at University of Bath, who helped journalist Tom Philpott compile a list of claims made by companies and researchers about when cultured meat will come to market.  Her data ended up being the centerpiece of a longform article in Mother Jones!   Predictions for when cultured meat will come to market, compiled in 2013 and published in The Atlantic. This was Allison's jumping off point.
