It’s been a really tough fundraising year.
If you’re with a start-up or non-profit like us, you too, might be feeling the effects of the 2022 stock market decline. The fact is, so many of our donors’ philanthropy depends on how the market is doing. So when the market is down, so are we.
That’s why I am so, so grateful and thrilled to be announcing that we have a donor - a cell ag pioneer - matching all donations up to $150,000 this giving season! (Don’t worry, we will be announcing who they are in due time.) P.S. There have been some very cool things happening but I’m worried about filling up your inbox every day. So dumping here: Last week, DARPA announced that cell ag is a focus area for this year’s Young Faculty Award, bringing cell ag ever further into the mainstream science community. Our very own Bre Duffy and our collaborator Kim Ong of Vireo are both vice chairs in the FAO consultation on the safety of cell based foods! And last but not least, our beloved Fellow Natalie Rubio is one of this year’s Forbes 30 under 30. In 2020, Arturo from EVERY was one, and in 2019, so was Ryan Pandya and Perumal Gandhi from Perfect Day!
