| | Hello Paige,
With International Open Access Week coming to a close, we thought it would be a good time to share an update on OpenCellAg. OpenCellAg is a critical initiative to advance foundational knowledge and tools for the cellular agriculture industry. It will gather and manage projects and partners who can support the creation of open cellular agriculture infrastructure, methods and knowledge.
Think of it as the public-private partnership clearinghouse for the field. The goal? To advance the field globally as quickly and equitably as possible.
Since the launch, OpenCellAg has been visited 3000+ times, with visitors from over 25 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, the Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We've also seen 130+ individuals join the mailing list.
More importantly, we've been contacted by a number of private companies looking to contribute protocols, physical materials such as live cell cultures, and best practices for operations and getting started in the industry. The field wants open!
In the meanwhile, we've been leveraging these collaborative network connections in multiple efforts to secure government and philanthropic grant funding for the field.
Lastly, New Harvest OpenCellAg Repository is cross-posted to OpenCellAg. If companies or individuals wish to contribute publications, they can be uploaded directly here.
The repository doesn't just hold publications - any written materials that support the development of cellular agriculture can be curated and listed to provide wider access. If you'd like to send in other materials outside of publications and aren't sure how to contribute them, reach out to he...@opencellag.com. We can even have a short call to discuss if needed!
Open advances science, empowers regulators and policy makers, and informs the general public.
It's simple: cellular agriculture must build up its open infrastructure to succeed.
Looking forward to sharing more updates as things progress. For now, have a great weekend and talk soon! |
