I can’t believe it but I think we just held our best conference yet. After three years and two pandemic cancellations, it went off like never before.
We gave the conference a purpose this year. And by we, I mean all of us.
If you were in the room, you know what I’m talking about. If you weren’t, the purpose that we found was making the conference deeply about New Harvest’s work, vision, and impact. It was about creating a virtuous cycle between New Harvest and the people, companies, and organizations impacted by what we do.
My favorite moments were the spontaneous ones. An off-the-cuff auction. A town hall that turned into a teary-eyed fundraiser, where we were showered with $1,395,680, in-kind donations, and stories that melted our hearts.
There will still be some tough choices ahead of us, but I can say this for sure: Being vulnerable with our community was the best thing we could do. Thank you for rewarding our courage. It keeps us brave as we continue to raise the $18.5M that we need to keep our ambitions supported.
Meera will be in touch next week with a full recap of the conference, including recordings, photos, an archive of the Slido questions, and more. In the meantime, let’s keep up this momentum!
