I just joined the group today and basically the wife and I have just been caching for about 2 months. We found some great containers to use for caches while we were on vacation in FL, but we aren't sure about what, if any, local or state regulations there might be about placing caches.
I have got the guidelines from groundspeak, but they are pretty general and I am curious about our local stuff. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, there are no local regulations. But I am sure that some others will come on and either agree or denie! :) Welcome to Granite State Geocachers!! And welcome to Geocaching.

DO NOT PLACE WITHOUT PERMISSION! At least on Private Property! THINK of the placement as something YOU would like to find! Hows the parking? Hike? Is it in a low area subject to flooding? Would it be accessible in Winter? Just a couple of suggestions to remember.... Any time we can be of help, just let us know!
