Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

I'm new to 3-d printing, but have been interested in it for several
years. Now I finally have an excuse to get more acquainted with the
technology.

I work in the low vision rehabilitation laboratory at Schepens Eye
Research Institute, and in my spare time for a startup called
HumanHuman Technologies Inc., we develop novel human-computer
interfaces and are located in Somerville, MA.

Matt,

I'm not too far away from you (Merrimack Valley area). I'm working on
a Mendel build now. Slow going but committed to the project.

  Hey TC,

How are you building your Mendel?

Hi Thomas,

Let me introduce my co-founder Dave Thomas. I forwarded your message to him as he is our lead technical person. We'd be very interested in talking to you about your experience building the Mendel.

thanks,

Matt

RE: my Mendel build

I have access to a 3D printer at work so I can print parts if I need
to. But I'm also looking at buying parts to speed things along.

It might seem backwards, but I'm working on software, electronics, and
motors first (I'm collaborating with someone else). Then I'm going to
focus on mechanical items. And then finally, I'll focus on the plastic
bits. This is partly because I can get more help later, but not near
term, on the mechanical and plastic parts.
