Support the Lightning Class

My apologies if you received this more than once.

The Lightning Class is at a crossroads with a need to secure the future availability of new boats and attract new sailors from outside the Class. We have launched a strategic five-year plan specifically addressing these and other key needs of the Class to ensure its viability through 2038 (our 100th anniversary) and beyond. Fuel the Flash 2030 every spark counts is a five-year plan to raise $800,000 to address these needs. Read more about it here

We’ve already raised over $90,000 and have pledges for another $225,000. One of those pledges is a matching challenge for $25,000 – but to get that money we must find another 40 donors in the next month (we have 285 donors so far, but need to get to 325).  Donations don’t have to be large – even $10 or $20 from a donor will help us get the $25,000. I would love if you would be one of those donors! And all the better if you can also get any of your family members or friends or crew to donate as well.
