***PLEASE attend our event on Friday evening as detailed on the portrait***
Erick Munene was an incredible academic mind, performer, educator, friend, family member and most personally, my dedicated partner. His dream of making a life in the US and being a financial rock for his family was his greatest joy, other than running half marathons, volunteering weekly, and listening to music. He was hit on his bike by a speeding driver on Sunday January 25th and passed away at the scene of the accident.
He has humbled me in life and in death. Everything that I ever wanted to tell him was said when he was still here. I know he is resting and waiting for me to overcome my sadness with patience and a cup of warm tea. Those who met him were lucky to get his practical perspective and stories of teaching high school, college and elementary students. He had a smile and a handshake for everyone and was the type of person to give away all of his money to friends and family in need.
Please honor his memory by supporting of friends and strangers so that they may also be there for you in your time of need.
