The United Way is seeking an Assistant to the President & CEO and Board of Directors to achieve organizational goals and work objectives that relate to the Executive Office. Major responsibilities include the provision of assistance to the President & CEO and operational management of the Executive Office. The primary function of this highly demanding position is scheduling and calendaring requiring constant attention to detail and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. This position also schedules and arranges meetings of the CEO, the Board of Directors, the Executive and Nominating Committees, and other ad hoc committees as assigned. The successful candidate will coordinate with and direct staff to provide timely information, talking points, agendas and other information critical to prepare the President & CEO either independently or with senior management as necessary. The Assistant to the President & CEO manages inter-departmental communication and coordinates communication to and from the Executive Office.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and 5 years experience performing most or all of the work described. Experience within a corporate or business environment is preferred. The position requires that the candidate be a self-starter, innovator, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, exhibit flexibility and creative skills. Additional requirements include the ability to set priorities and adapt to rapidly changing situations, meeting commitments in a timely manner while staying focused under pressure with in-depth knowledge of executive office management and scheduling. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must be able to problem solve, answer questions, operate independently and in a team environment and have the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of volunteers, donors and staff at all levels. Ability to work a flexible schedule and maintain confidentiality of privileged information is required. Excellent computer skills and database program knowledge are required.
