Thank you Karen once again for a fabulous article on Policy Governance. It was put into affect ten years ago by the Legislature.

Policy Governance should be ripped up and thrown in the garbage. The board of Trustees are in bed with the Unions and CCSD. They no longer represent the parents and the community. Resenting the PARENTS and the COMMUNITY is there job. I guess they forgot that. They should be the body of trustees that represent us at all times and on every issue that affects our children.

They keep a superintendent  in a five year contract with no results. I would never give a superintendent a five year contract. I would give a yearly contract with options based on his or her performance.I guess the Trustees where in bed with the superintendent as well.

It is time we the people of the community let them know that they are in for a fight if they don't change their MO.

Barbara - Do you feel that the Trustees should take "everything" back
that reliquenished to the District to do in all matters? Another
words actually strip the District of the Trustees responsibilities.

Barbara -
When The Rose Moore Show interviewed you on www.alltalkradio.net, we
talked about the $14 million that was taken away from Special
Education students and allocated somewhere else.....of which no one
seemed to know where it went. Then about 2-3 weeks ago $7 million was
put back into Speical Education. Do you know why it went back into
the Special Education Account? Do you know why the full $14 million
was not put back in?
Thank you. Rose

Barbara-
I wanted to know if you would have your own "Cabinet" which consists
of the public to be an extension of being a Trustee, to make informed
decisions, inconjunction with the District's reply to any questions or
concerns you would have but not using the District as you sole source?
Thank you
Rose

No. The Trustee responsibility is the the parents and the community, plus hire a Superintendent .No their responsibilities should be to oversee the issues of CCSD and present them to the parents and the community. Not hold hands with CCSD and the unions.

Do you know where it went Rose. Who is going to tell you?. CCSD seems to do what they want with the money they get without having to tell anyone. Who asks? Do you think if I asked they would tell me the truth? I am sure you know what is going on. I am sure they used the $14 million dollars for something else. Whatever they deemed necessary. Do you think that is right? Do think that is fair? NO, who stops them from doing that?

We do not have a CCSD Check book on line showing the disbursements and tracking where it is going. Do you think I would believe anyone at CCSD if they tell me where the $14 Millions dollars went. They would have to show me the account and where it went and show it to me before I would believe them

I happen to be a fast learner and as old as I am I get what is going on the School Board. They are taught everything. If you didn't know Rose  they are given classes on how to be a school board member and given all the information before hand in their computers for each School Board meeting.

I get the feeling Rose that you don't think I am good enough for this job. I am sorry you feel that way.

Barbara.

B-

The Board of Trustees are in bed with the Unions and CCSD.
We ALL have information and "strong feelings" about your comment but
no one has proven it to the public or myself - except for NPRI on
individual issues.

As Trustee and/or candidate, what Plan do you have to revamp the
Governance policies?

As we know, there are a whole host of areas that by state, federal law
and public opinion that the trustees are responsible for and need to
regain control over. But if you dumped the Governance Policy you have
to have something that takes it's place. What will that be? Will
there be an advisory committee or committees that will undertake the
task of analyzing district proposals? who will the committee(s) be
composed of etc. etc.? Is there a majority consensus with those
trustees not running for reelection as well as candidates running that
are in favor of Revamping or Replacing the Governance Policy?
