to Nevada Parents' Sounding Board
To all the readers out there in the NPRI world I want to offer you a
word of advise. When you have a beef with the District and then go to
the Trustees about your problem - you will notice that they will have
someone to speak to you out in the Hall way. Don't fall for this.
Ask them to have this person come to the mike and answer the questions
in front of the Trustees. Why? Because it is no longer Public Record
on what you and someone else are talking about in the hall way. Make
it public record.

When you know, with proven documentation, that the trustees and the
district are in total violation of the laws, ADA IDEA, FERPA, Open
Meeting Law, etc. etc. and others, don't sit around and stew over it.
Send in a complaint to the State AND the Federal Governemnt right
away. The Trustees will Hem and Haw in giving you an answer, if they
will even answer you.

If you are not sure who you should send your complaint to then get on
www.ed.gov and peruse around and you will find alot of agenices that
will hear you compliant. The Hotline phone numbers are great to use
on this site.

ADA is located in Seattle, Washington. They take care of the whole
west coast including Nevada. Document, document, document.....make
copies and send to them. They have so many days to investigate and
answer your complaint. Keep track of the time line just in case they
go over it so you can call and "Refresh their Memories".
