Havingissues after upgrading to Sonoma. Whenever I play a project that has about 50 tracks, the audio just cuts out for no reason during playback, recording, bouncing. Goes silent with a little click. Never had this issue before, even with as much or more tracks. Projects with smaller track numbers (5-10) do not have this issue.
Having the same exact issue! I was on the phone and shared my screen for 1.5hrs with "experts" over at Apple as I recreated the audio drop multiple times. It cuts into Apple Music and YouTube when there's audio playing at the same time as Logic. As soon as Logic's audio cuts out, those others do at the same time.
There seems to be a CoreAudio issue that lies within Logic Pro in Sonoma (if you're reading this and haven't upgraded yet, DON'T). I'm hoping developers send that update out very soon! My backup DAW (Prx Txxx's) has been a life saver at the moment which is odd because I initially left them 2yrs ago to come to Logic full-time.
This is unacceptable Apple. Just bought a brand new Mac Studio and it's completely worthless to use for Logic Pro. I play my tracks and every couple of seconds the audio is cutting out. This should of never passed the QA process.
I'm having the same problem. However, I only have 15 tracks. When I playback the audio in session, the sound cuts out after a few seconds. The platform keeps playing and I see sound coming through the master and individual channels, but no sound coming through my monitors.
If I try to go to youtube, spotify, or Beatport for example to hear anything with sound -- I can't hear it. I have to go back to logic, pause and replay the session, and pause it before the sound cuts out again. Then it opens up all audio to the system.
Im having the same issue with Waaayyyy less Tracks and Plugins going. Im on a MacBook Pro M1. 1024 buffer size, Apollo Twin Interface. It even does it when there is no interface and Im away from my studio set up just playing back through my headphones.
I have the same issue. After unmuting a cluster of frozen tracks, the audio just cut out for no reason during playback after approximately a tenth of a second of sound. I tried restarting Logic but even rebooting my MacBook Pro hasn't resolved the issue. I'm not sure what else to try. I'm running Sonoma but this happened before on the previous MacOS too.
I'm experiencing the same issue - it's very frustrating. The audio in my project (and on YouTube) completely cuts out during playback, and I have to pause and play for it to resume. My initial thought was that the problem was linked to the recent Sonoma update, as that's when I first noticed the playback issues. So it's somewhat reassuring to hear that others are experiencing this after the update as well.
Hopefully, Apple can address this soon and release an update for Logic, as it's currently impossible to record or playback anything in this state. Like OP, I tried bouncing the project to see if it would help, but surprisingly, it still cuts out with a loud "click".
I can't be sure if this is the actual fix for everyone since this still happened to me with the latest version of Sonoma and Logic Pro 11, but check your license status for any purchased plugins/instruments you use. For me, it was my installation of Ozone 9 Elements. I registered it again and the audio drop-outs stopped. It makes sense for something like this that does mastering since they's need a way to control unlicensed installations.
With me, it appears in more complex projects with many plugins enabled. When one of those particular plugins is disabled, it clicks again and audio continues. Enabling the plugin makes the audio drop out again. This happens on any track, any instrument.
I'm working in Logic Pro Projects with my partner, which we share with dropbox. We do this for years already, but lately, whenever my partner saves a project to DB, there are files that do not show up on my Macs.

It simply won't sync in the future, since Apple **officially** stopped supporting Dropbox for syncing Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro X projects... at least, that is what DP said here ( -support-for-expected-changes)...
We have looked at other cloud storage providers on the Mac OS File Provider framework like Box and Tresorit and they are both able to sync .logicx files with no issues. This would then mean it is a Dropbox issue not an Apple issue.
The box says i5 (1.3 GHz) 4 GB, year 2013. I've given my serial number to three suppliers who've all sent me a different logic board. Something is amiss somewhere between the original config and the board now. So if I can just match this board, it would be great.
The part number is normally in the area where the SSD would be; in this case, hidden under that white sticker.I do not believe your board is 820-00165 because I'm comparing it to one of those right now. Although its general shape is the same, some of the components are laid out differently.
Does anybody know how to debug logic on M1 when running in Rosetta mode?
Whenever I attach the Debugger to Logic directly, it crashes with Exception: EXC_BREAKPOINT (code=EXC_I386_SGL, subcode=0x0) (without loading any plugin).
Yes I tried both, the problem with launching Logic with the debugger attached is that Logic does not even start in Rosetta.
Using /usr/bin/arch -x86_64 "/Applications/Logic Pro X.app/Contents/MacOS/Logic Pro X" to attach the debugger to Logic Rosetta does not work either.
I have a configurator station that needs to have its logic board replaced. It works in every way save for a broken USB port. The second port works just fine. I have a good back up of the MacBook software wise. Will I run into any glitches with Apple configurator and its supervision/app connection to the cart of iPads by replacing the logic board. Thoughts on this topic appreciated . Please don't respond saying to move to device-based licensing for this cart. We are going to do that this summer. I just want to get through the rest of the school year on what we have.
I don't believe you would have any issues. If I recall correctly, Apple's guidance for retaining the supervision status if something happened to the configurator computer was to just restore from a time machine backup. I don't believe it is hardware specific.
Agreed! It is not connected to the hardware. The best way to transfer Apple Configurator to another machine is via Time Machine. I just did it, and the hardware was completely different. It worked fine.
What's wrong with a new USB hub assembly and a bit of soldering time? I guess actually fixing PCBs are out of the picture now for everyone...it's only a "swap" method - sad really. We are losing the ability to have decent soldering skills.
I appreciate all the replies. MacBook is actually in warranty. We are a self servicing provider. I likely will be doing the repair myself. I just wanted to make sure that we didn't gum up Apple configurator by doing so. I have a time machine back up, so from what I'm hearing this is a no-brainer.
In turn that specifically references Apple guidance -us/HT202430 which states that proceeding as outlined allows supervised management of the devices: "After restoring a full backup, you can use the new or reinstalled Mac to manage devices supervised by the previous Apple Configurator Mac."

I have done multiple uninstalls and reinstalls via Waves Manager, full restarts, and still I only see two plugins in Logic in my Waves folder when inserting a plugin on a track: The free CLA echo-reverb and the Kings Microphone lol. I have used the full Abbey Road collection on my 2013 MBP 15" Retina, no issues. Easy install and authorizing process.
We are working to qualify and update our software to work there, but this may take some time and I do not have an ETA.
In the meantime, I cannot offer any troubleshooting steps or help resolve this.
Do you still own a previous Mac with Intel processor where the plugins run properly?
Heya Simon. I worked out that I needed to migrate logic and waves plugs from the intel machine to the M1, then open logic in Rosetta and validate the plugs to the M1. All present and accounted for and running very well. That will hold me over nicely until I can go native when waves is rockin the M1.
