Homework Assignment: In-class discussion
Please View: “Final Project: White Papers” on the Google group.
Additional Side Note: DARPA is specifically looking for mathematical
models of the brain.
DARPA has presented some information on formatting white papers.
Please read these details on the Google group.
3-5 pages….short and concise
12 pt font
Figures, Tables, and Charts included
7 important sections have been explained by DARPA on the Google group
Think outside the box by using a unique approach. You have a great
deal of freedom, so don’t just tweak some well-developed existing
idea.
Team up if you would like (2-3 members is optimal)! Use Google groups
to facilitate this interaction.
For DARPA it needs to be related to the government timeline in some
way. For the purpose of this class, you are not strictly limited to
government application because in reality these papers could be
submitted to additional organizations such as NIH.
It’s not a discovery project (We are not trying to figure out how the
brain works). It needs to be an application.
Remember this is a Darwinian process. You have to put out several
ideas and then you will progress toward an idea that sticks.
You MUST submit a rough draft to Dr. Jung for review.
Due Date: Last Week of Class (May 15th), Finals Week
Rough Drafts Due: The End of April
