At the University of Vienna the position of a
Organisational Assistant (m/f)
is vacant.
Four Vienna Doctoral Schools (VDS) were recently established at the University of Vienna. The main goal of the VDS Cognition, Behavior and Neuroscience (COBENE) is quality assurance in PhD training and research in the areas of cognition, behavior and neuroscience via specification of high standards for the acceptance of new members, the definition of supervision standards and a range of measures to ensure the highest quality of PhD training and promotion of inter- and transdisciplinary knowledge exchange.
As organisational assistant (m/f) with an initially temporary contract for 3 years you play an important role within the Vienna Doctoral School COBENE. You are the contact person for interested parties, members, external co-operation partners and others. You will need to obtain an understanding of the four scientific sub-programmes of the VDS COBENE, involving about 35 PI’s from different UniVie departments and faculties (spanning across natural sciences and humanities), their labs and their PhD’s
Areas of work:
• Participation in setting up the Vienna Doctoral School COBENE
• Advertising and managing job vacancies for PhD candidates
• Communication between the steering committee, the non-scientific head of the VDS COBENE, PI’s and students
• Organisation of public talks, the Kick-Off event, the annual meeting of the PI’s and the steering committee as well as other events
• Installation and documentation of the VDS activities, data maintenance
• Assistance in monitoring the PhD candidates
• Assistance with the annual VDS report
• Maintenance of the web page
• Administration and planning of budget
Profile:
Excellent communication skills, very good experience with organisation and coordination as well as destinct service orientation are a minimum requirement.
Knowledge of universitary structures and administrative processes as well as SAP knowledge is beneficial. Verifiable work experience in office management; Conflict management and ability to work in a team are essential.
