Dear all,
I just would like to highlight the upcoming seminar:
Cyril Herry
Thursday 3, 11:00
IMBA/GMI Lecture Hall
Prefrontal neuronal circuits and mechanisms controlling fear behaviour
Cyril did his PhD in Neuroscience in Bordeaux, working on the role of the synaptic plasticity in the medial prefrontal cortex in fear extinction. He then joined for his postdoc the lab of Andreas Lüthi at the FMI and switched his research on the role of amygdala in fear extinction. There he successfully developed a technique for long-lasting single unit recordings from the same neurons in behaving animals. After his postdoc he returned to Bordeaux where he received an ERC starting grant in 2011, permitting to set up his lab at an INSERM Institute. His lab now concentrates on prefrontal and amygdala neuronal circuits involved in conditioned fear and extinction. For this he uses cross-level methods combining in vivo electrophysiological recordings, selective optogenetic manipulations and behavioral approaches.
