Subject: Call for application to Ideas Lab participation for research groups on mental health of children and adolescents

Dear Vanja,

Please find here below and attached the information on the planned research groups for mental health of children and adolescents. Thanks for circulating it.

I am contacting you on behalf of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG), an independent Austrian research organisation with 600 employees and a major focus on health sciences.

We are currently preparing the setup of novel networked Research Groups of LBG focusing on mental health in children and adolescents with a particular interest in children of mentally ill parents. These groups, which will be hosted by Austrian universities, should not only deliver excellent research results in this new and currently under-researched area, but also aim to form truly interdisciplinary teams, which have the ambition to impact society and generate knowledge with high relevance for patients, caregivers, and their families. In order to set up these groups successfully, LBG will support the teams with its expertise in Open Innovation in Science (please find more information on www.openinnovationinscience.at) and by that with methods how to work purposefully across boundaries, e.g. involve communities and crowds into scientific work. Please find more information about this new research initiative here.

To facilitate the generation of research proposals, LBG is organising an interactive free-thinking workshop event, the Ideas Lab, where 25 to 30 selected scientists from a range of disciplines will immerse themselves in a collaborative thinking, team formation and proposal development process. Afterwards, up to three research teams will be selected to build the foundation of the new Research Groups.

Therefore, we are currently looking for excellent experienced researchers (up to 8 years after doctorate or equivalent qualifications), who have the skills and motivation to be part of this ambitious and novel research platform. We are interested in people from a broad range of disciplines who either have already done excellent research on mental health of children and/or adults or come from other relevant areas able to make major contributions to this topic. They should be ambitious, willing to work across boundaries and make a difference by their work.

We would like to encourage you to apply for this call before 8th March 2017. Please click the following link to apply: http://www.ideaslab.lbg.ac.at/

Please note that invited applications will be evaluated by a committee before being selected for the Ideas Lab. The current invitation is an encouragement for participation in the selection, not a guarantee for participation.

We hope you find our call motivating and that you are interested to apply for participation in the Ideas Lab. Please do not hesitate to contact idea...@lbg.ac.at should you require further information. Furthermore, we would appreciate if you could share this with your colleagues.

Best regards,
