Hi guys.

My question is. Is it posible to record data with NeuroRighter via a Network Interface Controller input?

Let me explain a bit. My lab got couple of old A.C. Amplifiers and Pre-amplifiers (Grass 7P511 and Grass P511), we can't afford new ones. I got all the hardware needed to record multi-unit activity, I got a High impedance probe adapter and the amps can record up to 40 kHz. The problem we had was that we needed to convert the analog signal to a digital one. Our engineer designed and built an analog to digital converter, he also wrote a java app to record data using it. Any PC that has a Network Interface controller can run it. You just plug the network cable to the card and make a connection via Converter IP and you are ready to record. The problem is that with the java app the data can only be digitized up to 1 kHz and thats not enough for a multi-unit recording. (Sadly the engineer is not with us now).

So I wanted to now if I can use my current setup (via NIC input) to record with Neurorighter and be able to digitized up to 25 kHz.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Hi Fernando,

Unfortunately there's no way to input signals for a network interface card in the current version of NeuroRighter. It would require some reprogramming on your part to make it work.

Best,
John

Hi Fernando,

I highly recommend you take a look at Bonsai.

It is a _fantastic_ piece of free software for doing all sorts of data processing and recording and almost certainly has network interfaces.

Best,

Jon
