Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Neuroscience

University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada
The postdoctoral position will be hosted in the CNRG, with a principal focus on neural modeling to build the next version of the Spaun brain model, the world’s largest functional brain model. The project integrates spiking deep neural networks, motor control, probabilistic inference, navigation, perception and cognition to develop a state-of-the-art, large-scale, spiking, whole-brain model. Applicants should have a PhD, with demonstrated skills in at least one of those areas and a willingness to learn about the others.Closing date: 30 November 2024

Two PhD positions in Neuromorphic Computing

Technische Universität Berlin, Berlin, Germany
Are you excited about designing hardware for artificial intelligence (AI) with the goal of solving important societal challenges? Are you a passionate, self-motivated and creative researcher who is curious about how the animal brain works? If so, then the Semiconductors and Microelectronic systems (SAM) group at TU Berlin has two exciting PhD opportunities at the interface between nanoelectronic devices, computational materials science and hardware-based AI. Taking inspiration from the biological brain, the newly formed SAM group will design novel nanoelectronic devices and materials that can host an innovative form of AI which operates in hardware. This technology, called neuromorphic computing, aims to surpass the limitations of current software-based AI models, especially in terms of energy-efficiency, miniaturization, user privacy and scalability. For more details please follow the link. Closing date: 18 November 2024

Computer Vision Applications Engineer – Smart Vision Sensors

Zurich, Switzerland
At SynSense we are designing next-generation edge AI processors — ultra-low-power (µW to mW) for IoT, embedded, and mobile devices. We are also designing smart sensor modules, combining sensing and computation in tiny low-power packages. The Applications team at SynSense develops real-world solutions running on our low-power ML inference hardware. We build, train, test, and deploy ML models; we also design, collect, and analyze data sets. Our vision processing pipeline is based on advanced event-driven CNN architectures. We have an immediate opening for an CV Applications Engineer, to build low-power CV applications and contribute to the design of next-generation smart vision sensors. This position is for an open-ended full-time (100%) contract. You will be based in our Zürich office in Oerlikon. Occasional travel may be required to conferences or external partner meetings. Interested? Then we’d love to hear from you!
