Dear Chris M, Trish and other NeuroLex users frustrated by the lack of resolution of NeuroLex entities via an ID,

Zaid wrote this rdf exporter for NeuroLex entities:
http://neurolex.org:8080/RDFGen/GetRDF?ID=nif-0000-00006

It should take any neurolex page and resolve to the appropriate rdf representation.
It will accept the page names as well as ids.

I would love to know whether this helps you query/resolve the NeuroLex entities.
I would love to know whether this RDF representation is sufficient.

Thanks Zaid!

I can't recall specifically complaining about URI resolution, but that's
not to say I didn't.

The general theme of my technical recommendations have been centered
around problems with the existing RDF export (for example, at least two
URIs for each concept, with different properties attached to each,
requiring some kind of merge), and the lack of a better alternative
means of exporting the whole database.

It looks like the contents of this service are something like a SPARQL
DESCRIBE or a parent traversal -- but any issues with the underlying RDF
will be inherited here

So in answer to your question, afraid it's not of immediate use to me,
but could be v useful to others!

I actually have my own framework for working with nlx, will post
shortly.

Thanks for the note. I also don't recall complaining about URI resolution in NeuroLex, only questioning the reason for various formats of ID values in the wiki for terms from community ontologies.

The output from http://neurolex.org:8080/RDFGen/GetRDF?ID=nif-0000-00006 looks the same as when one clicks on the "Link to OWL / RDF" from a page in NeuroLex which generates this page: http://neurolex.org/wiki/Special:ExportRDF/:Category:Resource:NeuroMorpho.Org and represents the information using the wiki properties vs. the actual properties used in the OWL representation of the content from the community ontology.

I'm also working on a framework for generating OWL files from content in NeuroLex so this is not of use to me at this point.

Trish
