Hi all,

I've implemented some additional constraints to disable spam, and also relaxed one constraint to aid users.

All edits done anonymously get the captcha -- this has been in place for a while.  Any edits done logged in will avoid the captcha (previously even logged in edits had been asking some for the captcha).

Currently I think the captcha system can be circumvented by some smarter spammers though.  I'm hoping the new NeuroLex version of the captcha will be better.

Because the captcha isn't as good as I'd like there are a few other restrictions I am putting in place:
  1. Anonymous users can no longer create new pages
  2. Users that create new accounts cannot create new pages for 4 days after the account is created.
Thanks,
  Stephen

Are our captchas helping transcribe old books?

Yes -- we use ReCaptcha (http://www.google.com/recaptcha).
