Hi,

Just wondering if there is an issue with:
http://neurolex.org/wiki/Avian_Brain_Regions

It lists 6 pages. Two are actual avian brain regions, one is a neuron,
one is a mass in the spinal cord lumen, another is a database of
influenza, another a connectivity database.

I think the influenza database at least is an error?

There may also be errors of omission. The page is missing pages such as:

http://neurolex.org/wiki/Category:Mesopallium_intermediomediale

(My guess is that this came from a source like this:
http://avianbrain.org/hyperstiatum.html )

It looks like there was an error importing the term? Most of the links
are red and there is no indication this is an avian brain region.

Hi Chris:

That page should be taken down.  At various times we've tried to upload Avian neuroanatomy from the ABCD database (Avian Brain Connectivity Database).  We have an elaborate spreadsheet, but the upload was never done.  Stephen created this page, but he forgot to put the restriction that membership was defined by being a regional part of brain and also species=Aves.  That's why the influenza database shows up.  But if you'd like all the brain regions, we can probably dredge up the spreadsheet.

I think I still have an Excel file from the late Ted Jones with an avian nomenclature. I also can ask Harvey Karten for an avian nomenclature -- he worked a lot in this field. Would it help?

Please find attached the avian (pidgeon) nomenclature I mentioned the previous email.

Hi Maryann,

I see the page is deleted, and the Mesopallium_intermediomediale page is
updated with species info, thanks.

I don't have any pressing need for these, I was just attempting a
conversion of neurolex to OWL and came across this in my list of
oddities encountered.
